Anyone looking to purchase a hunting license in NYS for the first time will need to show proof of hunter education or of a previous hunting license. If you are looking to also purchase a bowhunting license you will need additional proof of bowhunter education or of a previous bow hunting license.

Once you have the proof you need you can purchase your license(s) through any of the sales channels detailed in the “Where can I purchase a sporting license?” question.
